Houston, Texas - February 1, 2018 - Although it was an overcast day in Houston, Texas, the members of GreenSpace Holdings and their general contractor, TMS Contractors, were on hand for the official ground-breaking of the world's second multi-story, climate-controlled self-storage facility to be built using GreenSpace Holdings patents-pending designs which utilize shipping containers as the main construction component.
This is the 2nd facility for both GreenSpace Holdings and TMS Contractors, with at least 3 more facilities planned for construction in 2018.
GreenSpace Holdings Co-Owner, David Ledoux, said, "We are really excited about this facility's location in Houston's Energy Corridor. Our partners, TMS and Jernigan Capital are also excited to get this facility constructed and operating. Houston is our home and we are excited to have a facility inside Houston's city limits."
Although today was the official ground-breaking, work began on the site earlier in January 2018 and is scheduled for completion this summer. The facility will boast over 133,000 net rentable square feet with unit sizes varying from 32 sf to over 300 sf. Like GreenSpace's Pearland facility, CubeSmart will manage the property.
The modern design, using multi-color insulated metal panels, was the brain-child of TMS Contractor's David Cannaliato.
